Max

In October 2010 I contacted you for help with my Max a 10 yo male cat that had been on progressively increasing doses of medication for both his bowels and bladder.  His episodes of incontinence and alteration between severe constipation and profound diarrhea had been increasing for about 2 years. The last episode was coming home to finding that Max laying in a huge stool, and that he had defecated all over the house, and urinated in 3 different areas in a period of 4 hours; it was so bad that I had even asked the doctor if I was doing the wrong thing by keeping him alive. The vet had no answer for me. This is a very kind vet, she also sees my other four legged children and I do trust her. Max was given fluids and antibiotics, and he seemed to start moving around a little better. I found our next step was a colonoscopy - which would be thousands.

Once I contacted Alisa, we made some rather simple adjustments. We changed his diet, added pumpkin, added a couple of supplements, changed his cat litter, and waited. I did not want to put him down; when he is well he plays and snuggles. He greets me at the door, and says hi to all my visitors - even snuggling them. He is generally a happy cat, and a pleasure to be with. I had not seen my sweet Max's personality in probably a year. So I am so pleased to tell you that we have not had an accident in almost 1 month (when in distress we were having accidents 3 times per week). Max is defecating regularly. I have been able to decrease his medications by half. - which is a substantial cost savings (when I am having a pharmacy in AZ compounding Cisapride for him - which was taken off the human market for side effects) His Amitriptyline remains the same, his lactulose has been decreased by half. - and his bowels are more predictable.

Max has progressively started acting better. his abdomen is no longer bloated. He has gone from 19lb to 18lb - he could loose another pound without a problem. Last night he was playing and socializing again - like he used to. He is snuggly again. He is back to my old Max. My life no longer revolves around his bowels and bladder - and I am not entertaining the idea of putting him down any longer.

Thank you
Kathy F

Callie

Callie, a 12 year old Greyhound, had a painful sounding cough/hack that would alarm her owner.  The cough was increasing in frequency, and Callie seemed to be getting worse.  Alisa was called to see if she could do anything for this wonderful animal.  A dietary change was recommended, including the addition of fresh foods, and a customized food/herbal supplement was formulated.  Within one week, the coughing almost disappeared, and a month later the formerly deep, painful sounding hack was virtually gone.  In addition, Callie's fur became thicker, softer and shinier, and her skin became softer.

Amadeus (dog)

"Amadeus is an eight year old mixed breed dog; our first consultation with Alisa was a little over two months ago.  I had noticed an increasing stiffness in his general movements and a limp that started appearing after he had been napping.  His skin also seemed to be getting drier and his usual shiny coat slightly dull  Alisa checked his dry dog food (which she approved) and his treats (which she did not).  She then created a vitamin/nutrition supplement based on his individual needs, and suggested I mix the powder in with olive oil, water, and a little yogurt, along with fresh vegetables, into his food.  Within a couple of weeks, I noticed a difference and within a couple of months, he is no longer limping, the stiffness is gone, and he walks and runs easily; his energy has increased and his coat has regained its healthy shiny coat."

Bean

Found lying in the sun, covered in biting ants, this little critter was paralyzed in the rear legs, and bleeding from its nose and mouth.  Alisa nursed the little mouse back to health with supplemented fluids and therapeutic touch.  Officially our "littlest client," Bean is now an unofficial mascot of Love Your Pet Natural Therapies.

Ella

Ella suffered from dry skin and dry, thinning fur.  After two months on an improved diet, and a customized food supplement, along with a specialized herbal blend, Ella's skin no longer shows any signs of dryness, sores around her chin have healed, and her fur is thickening and regrowing.  She runs to her food bowl, and loves her special powder that Alisa made for her.

Jedi (dog)

A frisky 12 week old Chihauhua puppy, Jedi was brought to Love Your Pet because his owner was worried about constantly (daily) popping shoulders, and a general lack of appetite and growth.  After a brief examination and interview, Alisa advised a change in commercial kibble, and formulated a food supplement that would promote healthy joint and bone growth as well as stimulate appetite.  A month later, the owner reported that the shoulder popping has virtually disappeared, and that Jedi's appetite has increased and he's growing well.

Mr. Bones

Diagnosed with hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis at the age of 5, Mr. Bones was placed on a medication that required quarterly liver testing to make sure that the negative effects of the medication were not destroying his liver function.  Since he was in pain, and didn't want to eat, a dog that usually weighs 60 lbs had lost about 15 lbs.  Alisa placed Mr. Bones on an improved diet, with regular (bursting) exercise, and a customized food supplement.  Three months later, Mr. Bones gained most of the weight back, and no longer needs to take prescription pain medicine.
